Position Overview

As we look to open the doors for patients in 2025, this visionary leader will work closely with the Emerus and ChristianaCare stakeholders to ensure we are creating a culture of patient and people-focused care. This role is for a leader who isn’t afraid of hard work and diving into establishing ourselves from the ground up as the neighborhood hospital of choice.

The purpose of this position is to lead, manage and oversee a niche multi-unit hospital system in an assigned market. The position performs a variety of duties to include: management of market partnership integration, new facility launches, planning objectives, budgetary management, hospital operations, regulatory oversight, and ensuring CNO and Hospital Administrators are in compliance with Federal, State, facility, market and corporate goals.

Essential Job Functions

Vision & Leadership

  • Develops market direction/strategic plan and ensures its alignment with corporate strategy and direction.
  • Sets initiatives/priorities and makes market agenda and strategy clear to all market team members.
  • Develops and motivates an effective management and clinical staff to achieve market and corporate goals, ensuring top down alignment to market and corporate strategy.
  • Conducts periodic performance evaluations and drives personal and team performance through encouragement, training & development.
  • Trains, motivates and develops market staff to achieve high levels of morale and engagement.

Marketing & Business Development

  • Participates with the Program Management Office in the launch of new facilities and other market and corporate projects.
  • Engages with key stakeholders, political contacts, and other leaders in the community to get out the message.
  • Work with PR/Marketing to deliver targeted messaging in an effort to inform target demographic and drive patient population and/or visits.

Operations & Compliance

  • Plans and directs the operations of assigned market in support of Key Performance Indicators in accordance to the authority conferred by the hospital governing body.
  • Conducts team meetings with market team members to discuss current objectives and performance in clear and concise terms.
  • Supports the development and implementation of clinical and patient service programs that meet client needs, regulatory requirements and patient satisfaction requirements.
  • Maintains annual budget for the assigned market. Monitors financial reports of the market to ensure budgetary compliance with facility, market and corporate goals.
  • Visits hospital facilities regularly to inspect operations to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Participates in State and Federal, Licensing and Accreditation, and Internal Quality and Compliance audits.
  • Ensure that the hospital-wide quality assessment and performance improvement (QAPI) program and training programs address problems identified by the infection control officer or officers; and
  • Be responsible for the implementation of successful corrective action plans in affected problem areas.
  • Resolves patient and vendor complaints, which have been elevated from Hospital Administrators.
  • Completes all daily, weekly, and/or monthly reports on a timely basis meeting all prescribed deadlines.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in healthcare administration, nursing, business, or related field.
  • Current RN license preferred
  • MBA or MHA preferred
  • 5 years in healthcare management with progressive operations experience.
  • Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to mentor and develop team members.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Position requires fluency in English; written and oral communication. Prefer bilingual (Spanish)
