Position Overview

The purpose of this position is the project management, implementation, training and support of the practice management and clinical systems of Emerus. The Revenue Cycle Systems Analyst manages quality standards and best practices throughout the organization through the comprehensive understanding of hospital workflows and efficiencies from the clinical, operational and technical perspectives.

Essential Job Functions

  • Subject Matter Expert of Revenue Cycle Systems (Patient Accounting and Charge Master).
  • Develop detailed policies and procedures, standard operating procedures, training and workflow documentation.
  • Optimize processes for increased productivity, revenue generation opportunities or cost control initiatives.
  • Provide training to new and existing users, as needed.
  • Provide data validation and work with database administrator to ensure accuracy and data verification of reports and query results.
  • Design, develop, and maintain system configuration, such as clinical content, fee schedules, charge entry review and edits.
  • Provide primary support to clinical systems and applications and secondary support for hardware, database, telecommunications and networking infrastructure.
  • Communicate and escalate urgent needs and awareness to Director, IT Revenue Cycle Systems.
  • Respond to user requests in a timely and efficiently.
  • Operate independently to complete projects with minimal directions from Director, IT Revenue Cycle Systems.
  • Act as IT liaison for CBO management and Director, IT Revenue Cycle Systems.
  • Ad-Hoc Revenue Cycle IT requests.

Other Job Functions

  • Work with other IT teams to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems.
  • Integrate and fulfill role as a resource of clinical, operational and technical knowledge.
  • Maintain confidentiality, HIPAA compliance and promotes administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to ensure the proper protection.
  • Monitor the application and system to ensure optimal performance and utilization.
  • Create and initiate best practices throughout the organization.
  • Participate with the IT team in maintenance windows, disaster recovery and system outage planning.
  • Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required.
  • Travel to all facility locations as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Ability to work off-hours when required.
  • Must be able to work independently and with cross functional diverse teams.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent technical work experience within the healthcare industry.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Revenue Cycle Systems, required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with Cerner or Epic hospital and/or professional billing required.
  • Experience in healthcare business intelligence and reporting, required.
  • Experience in system configuration building, maintenance, scoping, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to interpret data across multiple systems, understanding trends.
  • Knowledgeable in government compliance and regulation reporting.
  • Position requires fluency in English; written and oral communication.
