At our emergency facilities, our physicians see patients within minutes, 24 hours a day. Our patients realize from the moment they enter our doors that our team of physicians and medical professionals take charge, treating them with speed, compassion and medical expertise.

 

24-Hour PA, a non-profit physician group, is seeking full-time Emergency Medicine (EM) physicians for its 8 Baylor Scott & White Micro-hospitals across the Dallas/Fort Worth area. This opportunity offers a competitive independent contractor rate and a supportive environment. Our facilities consist of 16 beds today, 8 ED beds and 8 inpatient beds.

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide emergency care in a variety of settings across multiple hospital sites.
  • Collaborate with Hospitalists, Tele-Critical Care, Tele-Cards, and Tele-ID for patient care.
  • Manage and treat a wide range of medical conditions, ensuring quality care and patient safety.
  • Utilize EMR (Epic) for patient documentation.
  • Review CT scans, plain films, and ultrasound reports, with 24-hour reading availability.

Other Job Functions

  • Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required
  • Travel to all facility locations as required
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • Ability to work off-hours and on call when required

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED, required and completion of one of the following:
    • Completion of Medical Corpsman program and one year of applicable experience (OR) 
    • Completion of EMT-P (Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic), AEMT (Advanced-EMT), Licensed Paramedic (LP) course/program and one year of applicable experience (OR)
    • Completion of EMT-B (Emergency Medical Technician-Basic) and 1+ years of emergency room experience as an ER Technician or hospital equivalent experience [Oklahoma, North TX, Wisconsin & Pennsylvania markets only] (OR)
    • Completion of the first year of education and current enrollment in an accredited School of Nursing and one year of applicable experience (OR)
    • 3+ years of emergency room experience as an ER Technician [2+ years in Pittsburgh market only] (OR)
    • 3+ years as a CNA with relevant hospital experience (Wisconsin market only)
    • 3+ years as a Certified Anesthesia Tech/OR Tech experience (Wisconsin market only)
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross, required
  • Current ACLS/ALS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required in most markets.
    • Exceptions where it is strongly preferred include Pittsburgh, Oklahoma, El Paso, DFW, and Central PA (WellSpan Hospitals)
    • Wisconsin (required only for EMT-P roles).
  • Current PALS certifications through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross, strongly preferred
  • Experience with IV start, phlebotomy, and initiation of EKG, strongly preferred
  • For the Las Vegas market only, one of the following is required:
    • Active Paramedic (EMT-P) license, maintained throughout employment (OR)
    • Active Advanced EMT (A-EMT) license, maintained throughout employment (OR)
    • Completion of an IV certification course (one-time requirement) AND one of the following:
      • Active phlebotomy license, maintained throughout employment (OR)
      • Lab Assistant certification, maintained throughout employment
  • Position requires fluency in English; written and oral communication
  • Pennsylvania Candidates: Act 33 (Child Abuse History Clearance), & Act 73 (FBI Fingerprint Criminal History Clearance) completed within the last 5 years, or must be obtained prior to start date.
