Position Overview

Primary responsibility includes planning, organizing, and directing the overall operation of Radiology Services for the assigned market/hospitals.  Responsible for maintaining efficient and effective departmental operations that provide high quality patient care which complies with all local, state, and federal laws.

Essential Job Functions

  • Work with hospital administration and clinical consultant(s) on planning, organizing, and directing radiology services operations and ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal
  • Make departmental rounds evaluate effectiveness of operation, utilization of personnel and supplies, and general ethical and professional
  • Personnel management to include staffing, scheduling, ensuring staff competency, department in-service training, performance standards, staff licensure, etc.
  • Secure and maintain the physical facilities, equipment and supplies which are required to carry out effective patient care and create an optimum physical
  • Initiate and actuate improved methods of services and direct their
  • Responsible for the fiscal operation of the
  • Communicate appropriately and clearly to physicians, staff, and
  • Interact professionally with patient/family.
  • Consult other departments, as appropriate, to collaborate in patient care, performance improvement activities, and to promote effective intradepartmental relationships.
  • Initiate, interpret and enforce Radiology Services procedures and maintain and interpret hospital policies and procedures in accordance with ACR, DNV, and state radiation control regulations.
  • Cooperate in planning programs and safety and preparedness for radiation hazards, chemical hazards, biological hazards, fire, and
  • Attend, participate, and report in hospital committees, as
  • Responsible for the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of performance improvement and CQI

Other Job Functions

  • Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required
  • Travel to all facility locations as required
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Radiological/Physical Sciences or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred
  • Maintains Certification as Radiologic Technologist by ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or equivalent, required
  • ARRT certification in Computed Tomography, preferred
  • AHRA Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) certification, preferred
  • Current state licensure as required by the state in which practicing, required
  • 5+ years’ experience working in a medical imaging environment
  • 2+ years supervisory experience in a medical imaging environment with Quality Assurance and medical imaging regulations/accreditation requirements, required
  • Fluency in English; written and oral communication required
