Position Overview

The IT Operations Manager is responsible for maximizing production applications and services uptime.  Responsible for managing Operations Network and Server Technician to ensure proper Standard Operating Procedures and Change Management Processes are being followed.  This position requires working independently with minimal supervision from Director of IT. 

Essential Job Functions

  • Manage Operations Team of Systems, Network and NOC Admins
  • Lead Operations team to research and identify root causes and reported bugs and issues
  • Oversee Move, Add, Change and Delete operations of Infrastructure equipment
  • Work with application teams to push production changes to systems
  • Work with the database team to enhance uptime and reliability of systems
  • Work with IT Security to ensure compliance and adherence to established HIPAA policies and SOPs in Infrastructure Operations
  • Supervise monthly maintenance window activities
  • Monitor servers, processes and logs through the use of in-house monitoring systems
  • Perform selected operations tasks as needed
  • Manage administrative activities in IT Change Control Meetings with IT Governance body
  • Own and manage the asset management and disaster recovery process for IT systems
  • Ensure backup operations processes
  • Participate in service design, delivery and transition discussions with SMEs
  • Establish IT Operations KPIs and manage performance to goals
  • Create reports to review with the Director of IT

Other Job Functions

  • Maintain confidentiality and security standards and policies for the organization.
  • Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required.
  • Ability to work off-hours

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent technical work experience or certifications
  • Minimum 5 years related work experience with direct accountability for mid to large (100+ servers or network devices) network and systems integration environments
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Prior experience working with managed services
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring and syslog tools
  • Ability to utilize metrics and data to improve service quality and team performance
  • Ability to adapt and promote organizational core beliefs and values
  • Passion for IT and eagerness to stay current with changing technology practices
  • ITIL Certification, preferred
  • Familiarity or experience with DevOps or other SDLC methodologies, preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud, O365, or other hosted Cloud solutions, preferred
  • Healthcare industry experience, a plus
  • Position requires fluency in English; written and oral communication
