    Position Overview

    The Senior IT Security Administrator will contribute to the implementation of a robust, flexible, and forward leaning IT security program that seeks to meet the needs of the organization, while adapting to a constantly evolving technology, governance, and threat landscape.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Plan and implement security measures to protect computer systems, networks and data
    • Ensure compliance with organizational security standards, procedures, and guidelines
    • Update and maintain policies and procedures documents on HIPAA and IT Security
    • Participate in contingency exercises and working groups
    • Write security reports from Security Context Devices logs, privilege access logs, and make recommendations
    • Coordinate response to information security incidents
    • Prepare compliance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data
    • Assess and/or design centralized user and configuration management systems
    • Perform and/or coordinate regular security assessments of existing or new infrastructure
    • Train staff on information security procedures and best practices
    • stay up-to-date on the latest intelligence, including hackers’ methodologies, in order to anticipate security breaches

    Other Job Functions

    • Maintain confidentiality and security standards and policies for the organization.
    • Keep up to date with new developments in the IT industry
    • Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required.
    • Ability to work off-hours

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
    • 3+ years of information systems security or related auditing experience specifically dealing with HIPAA
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Experience with information systems security standards and practices (e.g., access control and system hardening, system audit and log file monitoring, security policies, and incident handling)
    • Experience working with email security gateways and centralized antivirus systems
    • Experience analyzing malware, spam, botnets, and phishing emails
    • Working Knowledge of DNS, NTP and Citrix, TACACS, IDS, IPS and various SIEMS
    • Working knowledge of protocols and technologies such as TCP, UDP, SSL, FTP, SMTP, NetBIOS and DHCP
    • Strong networking knowledge with a focus on security and digital forensics
