    Position Overview

    The purpose of this position is to ensure that kitchen functions are in proper order.  Lead staff, oversee food preparation, kitchen safety, food safety and kitchen inventory.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Ensure the kitchen is compliant within all regulated annual inspections
    • Makes sure that quality is maintained in all departments of the kitchen
    • Liaising with vendors for food, supplies and equipment
    • Maintain and stock ingredients in kitchen
    • Make sure all food is healthy and nutritious
    • Prepare weekly menu’s
    • Prepare all the food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
    • Make sure that safety guidelines are followed properly by staff in kitchen
    • Maintain high standards of hygiene and sanitation in kitchen
    • Clean and maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen at all times
    • Meetings with staff to discuss weekly menu and regular kitchen agenda
    • Plan strategies for improving staff performance and food quality
    • Assist in hiring and training new kitchen staff
    • Assist in maintaining and complying within all budgeted accounts of kitchen expenses
    • Assist in completion of staff performance reports and annual evaluations
    • Report any mishaps in the kitchen
    • Apply safety standards and keep a check on all equipment

    Other Job Functions

    • Attend all staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required
    • Perform additional duties as assigned

    Basic Qualifications

    • High School Diploma and/or GED
    • 5 years of kitchen experience
    • 1 year of experience supervising a team of employees
