    Position Overview

    The purpose of this position is to provide support to the CFO and Accounting Manager in carrying out the responsibilities of the Accounting Department.  Responsible for month-end close procedures, account reconciliations, journal entry postings, fixed asset management, and special projects.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Responsible for completing all general ledger month-end close procedures within required 4-5 day close schedule/deadline
    • Analysis and review of balance sheet and income statement accounts as needed
    • Assist with analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variances
    • Prepare monthly account reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts
    • Prepare monthly journal entries for day-to-day transactions
    • Maintain all accounting sub-ledgers for reconciliation to the general ledger and resolve any reconciling items
    • Review AP invoices for proper and consistent account coding
    • Preparation of financial ad hoc reports as needed
    • Assist with preparation for year-end financial statement audits and tax audits
    • Assist with preparation for Medicare cost reports
    • Record all bi-weekly payroll accounting entries and coordinate with payroll to resolve any discrepancies
    • Import daily cash activity for all bank balances
    • Provide training and direction to the staff accountant as needed

    Other Job Functions

    • Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required
    • Able to travel to all facility locations as required
    • Perform additional duties as assigned
    • Ability to work off-hours and overtime when required

    Basic Qualifications

    • BBA in Accounting or BS in Accounting, required
    • CPA certification, preferred
    • 4+ years of accounting experience, required
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Outlook), required
    • Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, required
    • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, required
    • Experience with Intacct accounting software, preferred
    • Knowledge of the Healthcare industry, preferred
    • Position requires fluency in English; written and oral communication
